Head-on crash with Oklahoma Department of Corrections bus leaves several injured

An Oklahoma Department of Corrections bus transporting inmates was involved in a head-on collision with a pickup truck, officials report.
According to the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office, the crash occurred around 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 9, on Highway 39, just east of Lexington, Oklahoma.
The driver of a pickup truck heading east appeared to cross the center line and crashed into an Oklahoma Department of Corrections transport bus, which was traveling west, the sheriff's office told KOCO.
Two inmates and one DOC employee were transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. The remaining 12 inmates were returned to the Lexington Assessment and Reception Center, according to the sheriff's office.

The pickup’s driver, who was the only occupant of that vehicle, was airlifted to OU Medical for emergency care, the sheriff's office reports.
