This week, JD Vance fielded questions about the economy, as Americans have been enduring the pain of high costs.
While speaking at an event in Pennsylvania, Vance claimed that there are "simple economics" behind why buying a home in the US has become so expensive, and his response is going viral for being... bizarre.

"Why have rents gone down for four consecutive months? We're starting to get those illegal aliens out of the United States of America," Vance said.
"Those criminals, those gang members, those people who are taking homes that ought by right go to the people in this room, and your children, and your grandchildren," Vance continued, gesturing towards the crowd.

"It's simple economics. If you have fewer people, fewer illegal aliens trying to buy homes, that means American citizens are going to finally be able to afford a home again. It's very, very simple economics," he said.
Quick fact check: According to WRAL, experts say that there is no evidence that supports that undocumented immigrants are the primary reason for increasing housing costs in the US, but rather, there's a lack of supply.
